Anybody ever thought of putting a light coat of copper anti seize on each side of the head gasket to make a good seal? Seems like it would be a good idea? What are your thoughts? Thanks guys
Never heard of using copper anti seize. I've used a light coat of Yamabond before.
I've used Copper Spray A Gasket from Permatex. It comes in an aerosol can and is designed for what your talking about doing. Didn't notice much difference.
Factory gaskets do not need a sealer, all it does is cover up an underling issue temporarily similar to over torqueing (past 18 ft/lbs you pull studs out of the casting). (good possible weekend fix at dunes),
If your not sealing you are pulling a stud, stretching a stud, head and cyl surfaces are not flat or you have a detonation issue hammering away at the gasket, or too much compression for oe head stud (87cyl).
