Clutch Question

While riding my newly purchased Zilla on Saturday I noticed that when I shift into third one of two things is happening. Either the clutch is slipping or third gear is gone all together. I've got a new lt250 clutch ready to go in should I go ahead and install it and see if the problem persists and if its still happening then what? Tear apart the tranny?


Also posted this in tech talk but figured if likely get a faster response in here.

I think it allready tranny what's it doing not common for just on clutch play to be worn down when my 3rd went on a trx 250x you can feel it grab and not grab relly noticeable compared to clutch what's it doing exactly?

hey i just looked at my clutch assy, and it does look like the 250 is same as the 500.
but the 500 takes more plates and fibers.
