What makes a zilla motor a HRD? Thought it was one builder who made them but I am noticing on some post 540 hrd built by-500fanatic or MHR. I know the 540 is punching it out to a 88mm piston. Only reason i ask is supposedly I own one.
its just called a hot rod duner.
Damn! I kinda need a HRI (Hot Rod Iceracer). I suppose it will do the job.
89.5 mm piston right? cause thats what I'm running.
well sorta, yes its the 89.5, but they just go with the last bore and call it that.
i have a few and they range from 87.5, 88. but if you send a stock bore cylinder, after they weld and do work to it
then they have to bore it out cause all the work screws with the bore.
540 HRD is Q's version of a motor that can be used for racing and duning.
Q shared his port specs with a few engine builders and allows them to do similar work and call it HRD.
That's why you will often see HRD mentioned with the engine builder name after it to clarify.
This one has a 88mm wiseco, welded ears, o ringed head and the squish has been modified. No etching on the cylinder though. Dont know who built it
take a pic of the intake and post it up, i will tell you if its a 540hrd.
is the bridge in the cylinder, if not dont expect a long piston life..
