And I Thought my Frame was bad !
I suppose its not that bad lol, But while its apart it'll be stupid not to add gussets! I just dont no where to add them.
I found this?
Jeez Alan. That thing is messed up. Who, or what, was riding that thing?
I would spend some time on the lower frame rails for sure. Maybe weld some strip along the bottom. Looks like it might be rusting from the inside out. I have a 89 frame that did that. I never attempted to weld it. I'm not so great at tricky welds like that.

Is it really that bad? What bit looks the worse? Any advise Kyle.
I'd say the piles of welds all over is the worst. Looks like a not so good weld job at some point in its life. But I'm sure it could be fixed right up with some TLC.

Ok i managed to find a few pics so i sort of know. It does seem its rusted from inside out as there is a few rust stains dipping out. How will i go about the rust inside? Maybe some sort of rust remover? I haven't got a clue lol

Yeah that bit does concerns me! I wont doing the welding i'll be sending it to someone who knows what there doing so im not worried about that. Its just making sure theres no rust inside the frame.
I agree with Gil. The cracks, rust throughs, and the "repairs". Yikes. Will take some talent to fix. The lower frame rails can be cut out and replaced, and that fuel tank bracket will need to be cut off and rewelded on straight.
I wonder. Maybe some sort of air pressurized CLR spray inside the frame, or etching primer...

Yeah the repair aint the best is it lol, All of what you said did cross my mind so thats defenitly getting addressed. I was maybe thinking of filling the whole frame with some of this
http://www.bilthamber.com/deox-gel and then getting a good clean out?
Or is that plain stupid
Interesting interesting.
Might just work.
But would be ugly if it Noms all the rust inside the tubes, making them thinner and weaker...
I'll have to ask the guy whos doing the welding tomorrow as he builds frames ect for a living so he should know what to do. Thanks guys i'll keep you updated with any progress
Hell, just have him build you a frame! Build lots and sell em! I'm in for a new gusseted LT500R frame modified for a DS450 front suspension and 87-95 RM Full Floater!
Lol i wont be going to that extreme, Hes more of a chopper guy so builds them! No harm in asking him though
A frame's a frame. Just minor differences.
Yeah i understand that but building a full custom frame with nothing to go by is a little different no?
I'm sure someone will provide one if he wants to make them.
Like i said theres no harm asking him, Hell he might not even have his own buisness as i havn't seen him in years. But im sure hes doing just fine

Going to see him tomorrow so il find out then.
That's nearly as bad as mine was. Ended up cutting both lowers out and completely replacing them.
