Re: Who Is Doing Pipe Chroming.

I just recently had my FMF pipe rechromed at Pacific Plating in San Diego. Which is the place Duncan Racing uses to have there pipes chromed. Like the previous reply in this thread already stated. Funny thing is - is I tried to buy a New shiney chromed FMF pipe from FMF and I did not fit my '88. The flange would not line up with the three studs. So I used my old flange (which fits perfect) and then tried to mount the new pipe. And that did not fit either!! I tried calling FMF and just got a bunch of useless talk. So I decided to have my old "Don Emler" edition FMF pipe rechromed. I called Pacific Plating at 11 P.M. on a Sunday night just to see if the phone number was good and he answered!! He get's his calls directed to his cell. He was a really nice guy and told me to bring it down. I didn't ask a lot of questions about triple plating and the such. He just asked me about chrome or nickel. Originally it was nickel but we agreed on chrome. As you all know chroming is highly toxic and strictly regulated. I didn't ask but I think he sends his parts to Tijuana, Mexico to have them chromed. No rules down there, Lol. I was more then happy with my results and the big surprise was that he removed a small dent that was on the front of the pipe. I hadn't asked him to do that but was delighted that they took it upon themselves to do so. I'll defititely go back to have more work done!!!  Oh! And the final price was $80 bucks cash!!
I forgot to take a "before" picture so I added an old picture when the pipe was still on the machine...
