Fixing to start on building an ALT85R

Buying this RM85 here soon. Runs, no silencer, no brakes, perfect to tear apart for a conversion proto-type!

Wasn't quite sure where to put this thread,,, is this fine?

But what y'all think?!

I think it will be sweet!  I've seen a LT80 that had a YZ85 engine in it.  It was pretty fast.

Maybe use an aftermarket Honda frame with a suzi motor??

I used to have one of those, we would call rad manufacturing and order spokes and rims for building 12"  wheels. Synergy springs will have the springs for your suspension, for your weight. A gp suit and a shifter cart track is some of the best times with these bikes....and don't think  they are slow.

Nope. Stock bike frame. We are using this one as a mock up bike to build 80/85 bolt on conversion kits. I have some plans on what I'm going to do.

It'll look something like this (only itll look factory) when it's done

Like I said, I've been building this thing in my head for the past couple years so I've got it pretty much figured out. It's all just cutting and welding an stuff now.

The biggest thing is chain alignment and rake angle. Gunna try and copy the Honda rake I suppose. I'll build in take in the triple trees so that the final product will be truly a bolt on kit.

We have an 02 CR80 with an 85 jug that came off a shifter kart (ported like CRAZY) and it scrreeeaaammmssssss. So much fun! That's why I've been wanting to build a three-wheeler out of one.

We're estimating around $1200 for a kit. We will know better after we see material cost, add in labor, machine work, etc.
