member of old site - John Morris
« on: November 13, 2013, 10:46:53 am »

Anyone remember John Morris? He had two 'zillas. One is an '87 with a 540 motor, he sold it to someone on the old site (I don't remember who it was). The other was an '89, which I bought. I was thinking of tracking down the title to the quad, and I remember John saying he could get in touch with the guy who had it. However, that was back in 2010 and I don't have any of John's contact info. I know it's a longshot, but I figure maybe some original members of the old site might remember him

Thanks

life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sidays totally worn out shouting "HOLY SH*T...WHAT A RIDE!"

I don't think he lived in either. I think he lived down south, somewhere around North Carolina or Virginia. I remember that he would ride at Hatfield McCoy's, and when I bought the quad, I met him at the Tyson's corner mall in Virginia, and he drove at least two hours to get there

Glen,
I bought John's 87.

He is from West Virgina and WV does not title ATV's ( i know from experience) so if you want title or live in a state that requires title you'll have to do take the bill of sale and go through your state DMV process to register it.

I would suggest you call the police with your VIN and ask them to run it in the national stolen vehicles database prior to taking it down there.  On the off chance it come up hot the DMV could confiscate it  (I always do this before I buy anything).

I did get title to my 87 here in CA so I'd suspect you'd have no issue as CA is the biggest PIA other than maybe NY.

Hi glamisrider, I'm looking to sell this quad and was going through some old info, so I just wanted to thank you for the info. I've decided not to bother, since NJ wants a notarized bill of sale which I don't have. But hopefully for a quad nearly 30 years old it won't matter. thanks again!
