Do you currently have a running Zilla or a project?

I got a chance to ride mine for the first time this year. I forgot how wicked these things are (properly set-up of course). Its a major deal trying to keep these old beast running and operating. I wanted to see how many on the forum actually have a running Zilla!!

I also have another topic I want to post about the perfect play motor set-up. I believe I have the right mix...........

Ain't ever seen it......but I have heard it.

PROJECT! Rode it when I first got it with no brakes and a smoked rear shock. It ran like a turd, so I stripped it. then moved onto other projects. She will be my focus this winter.

Project--ran strong for 25 years.  Now the beautiful powdercoated frame and parts sit in the spare room.  I ran out of free time to put it together.  But I can hear the parts calling out to me at night....put me together and ride me...put me together and ride me..   But it will be far far better than new when I am done.

For the guys who have not ridden a strong 500 2 stroke single yet - just wait. I have been riding quads and bikes for 20 some years and the Zilla is by far my favorite quad EVER.

I want a 250. I had a 88 but the 500 is the big poppa. Its the dark horse............its the bike that everyone looks and says......oh dang, its a 500. I think its kinda special if you have one that runs worth a sh*t.

Ebay stainless bolt kit, blue and grey renthal grips, blue grip donutz, black ARC brake lever, RIS billet footpegs, blue TM chain rollers, blue stainless brake lines, 90 decals, stainless front disks, PIAA headlight bulb, ARC clutch lever and mount, CT Racing midrange pipe, FMF turbinecore muffler, blue radiator hoses, RIS grille, billet parking brake blockoff, polished swingarm, blue chain guide, durablue axle, skull with helmet seat cover, stainless blue shock line, FOX sled shocks, shortened, revalved and sprung for Zilla, R6 taillight, and last but not least, an EXTREMELY MINT late 88 engine off ebay. I was the first inside her. Don't worry, I was gentle. Giggety.

Hey there y yes I have a 1987 Lt500r in good condition no pics sry it's mostly stock has engine an swing arm skid stock exhaust plastics in good condition has headlight yes working has stock Mikuni carb yes with proper internals boysen racing reeds K&N air filter I run it with air box lid off gas/oil ratio 32.1 premium fuel Castrol 2 cycle oil but switching to Valvoline or possibly Lucas also I use Klotz tranny fluid wld like to use Amsoil everything but it's too pricey. Also has stock sprockets. As far as I no the cylinder s stock bore yay lots of life left Quad runs strong good compression. Jst installed water pump an oil seal it had that weep hole drip buts that's a common problem . Rite now I m lookin for original decals all around sum goof ball put non correct ones on it lol. Also have 2 fmf gold series pipes but I d rather keep it stock.
