Hey guys just needed to confirm something, I have a 92 LT250R and it runs great but the it seems to be leaking gas out of the little tube that comes off the carb and hangs down toward the ground , I assume this is the overflow thing off the bowl of the carb. My question is does this mean I need to rebuild the whole thing or can I take it apart and clean it up and possibly fix the issue? I think this means the float in the carb is stuck right?
How much gas is it leaking? Is it worse with the engine off?I,d suspect the float height is off or some dirt or faulty needle and seat.Generally a needle and seat will run excessively rich but I have seen a few where it seaps a little periodically.
Its not a a lot but enough to drip on the garage flow for a bit.
clean carb, take valve seat off and use a q tip to clean passage,
clean o ring and put a tiny drop of 2 stroke mix on it when you put it back in.
the O-rings need to be replaced. Either find a generic o-ring kit. Or get the right ones.
Under the nut that holds the choke lever on, that o ring is the one that needs attention and the hidden one around the main jet in the center that looks like a large brass plug(needle goes into it).
cost is 1.00 total maybe or a carb kit
