It really depends on the weather.
Late winter/early spring can get pretty windy and sculpt razorbacks on most dunes, but the minute the wind changes direction it rounds everything back out.
So it's basically a crap shoot until around spring break or after, where the wind subsides a bit.
Flipside...it's generally nicer weather before spring break, after spring break it's hotter.
Parts of the dunes don't ever develop razorbacks, and there are ways to ride the dunes with razorbacks that don't beat the hell out of you due to the dune's wavy geometry.
Razorbacks are great for jumps though, so it's not all that bad.

You're never going to find a big crowd at Kermit, not like LS, so tracks aren't really a problem.
In fact, most days it's only your own tracks that you have to drive through.
It's almost always smooth virgin sand, and there's some parts where nobody ever goes and I can show you how to get there.
On an average day there might be 10 quads, so you still have to watch out but not constantly worried that someone will plow straight into you at every turn.
The most I've ever seen there, probably less than 50 quads and no more than 5 rails, maybe 10 UTV's.
That was the busiest day I've seen so far out there.

Let me know when you plan on coming out, I'll meet up with you and give you the "grand" tour.
There's water holes and places to camp out in the middle of the dunes, tons of trails, good places to park, etc.
Might want to load a small fuel can on the grab bar, hybrids and zillas almost always hit reserve exploring out there.
