the ltr comp release is a simple design. if you check it, just make sure the spring returns it to the resting position when you rotate it. not a common fail point.
i would check your valve timing, set piston to TDC, exh cam should be set with the timing marks at 9 and 12 oclock, intake cam should be at 12 and 3 o clock. cam chain should have 15 pins between both 12 o clock timing marks. the exh cam lobes should be pointing around 10 o clock and the intake lobes at 2 o clock.
connect a spark plug tester inline with the plug and wire to visually verify juice getting to the plug.
check the ignition fuse next to the battery, 10a or 15a i believe.
to check fuel, you can pull the injector out and try to start motor, you should see a fine mist of fuel come out. if it dripples, then its dirty.
also, some times the battery will have enough juice to crack the motor but not enough to fire up the fuel injection system and the motor will crank but not start, make sure battery is good.
