My boys first quad. Need pipe and silencer for lt80!
« on: November 01, 2013, 01:33:02 am »
My boy loves his lt80. But I would love to here him when he's out of sight. Anybody have a used aftermarket cheap exhaust system they'd sell?

Hard market place for used aftermarket stuff. My nephew has the exact same year lt80, been on the look out for an aftermarket exhaust for a few months now.

Oh yeah, and they're way too proud of a new one. It's a simple rear exit exhaust system, but it's like buying a system for a full size quad.

Yeah I was looking to get him a trinity pipe and it was like $275! Yeah for not even 2 feet of exhaust pipe you can get lost for $275!

I think if you are a bit crafty you might be able to slice the silencer and remove the baffles. You will need to weld it up once you are done.
I make carbon case savers, and sprocket covers for a bunch of crazies that own ancient bikes, Wait, I have an ancient LT250 too!!!

Don't do that!
There are no baffles plus the stock pipe works well.
I've seen modded stock pipes and there has never been a positive increase.

The Trinity is the best pipe....IMO.

lt80 is the man when it comes to the 80's.
he builds some of the fastest ones out there... i wish the one we bought for on boy was a 2 stroke. but
we got such a killer deal on his 07 couldnt pass it up.

I have an extra trinity pipe I might be willing to sell. I picked it and the bigger dg carb up in a package deal. I was thinking of using it on an lt80 build that is underway, but I'm just putting it together to sell it. Most folks don't want to pay for the performance parts on a kids quad.

I have one on my daughters bike that I found for $150. It really woke up her bike along with the stuff jack did.

How much would you have to have for your pipe? Maybe the carb too for down the road.

Im not big fan of Jacks work, ( Jack I will leave it alone here) I ended up taking my daughters LT80 to Tudors, thing ripped with stock pipe , stock carb, changed the gearing to early years and 428 pitch,  did wheelies with Jeff Tudors riding it, You know me I love to hot rod these quads, I save the cash run the stock pipe or keep hunting for LRD pipe, use that money to upgrade the shocks, be surprised how much mor eyour kid will peg the throttle with the shocks set up for taht LT80.
