good afternoon, I was out playing yesterday and ended up flipping my 500 on its left side at fairly low speed (in middle of first gear). I had just got it running after dealing with a bad stator and weak spark. pulled all the plastic and everything looks straight and in order. My fenders are trashed but thats the least of my concern. The bike stalled out when it flipped, but otherwise was running perfect before. My issue now is when I attempt to start it, it back fires LOUD, and the kickstarter wants to break my damn foot. I only tried to start it 3-4 times and am at a loss. Obviously it has spark, compression and fuel, the combination is not doing what its supposed to do. any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve <1>

Sounds like a sheared off woodruff key.

I've flipped my Zilla a number of times but it always started back up.   I rolled it last year and it kept running for a few seconds after it landed on my back and upside down and one of the tires gave me a pretty good bit of road road rash. I hit a pretty gnarly wash out that I tried to straddle that didn't work very well. But she still fired right up.

alrighty…found the problem, apparently somehow the packing came lose in the silencer and was plugging things up, pulled it all out and it fired on the first kick…loud as hell, but runs great! did a quick test run up the street and am pretty sure woke the whole block. All feels good…was stressing out because I've only owned this one about a month and thought it was doomed. Appreciate you all for taking the time to look
