Poor jetting will make even a built motor run like shiz. And with rebuilds lots of things can happen that will affect performance. Remember to leak-down test after you re-assemble. Jerry will get your carb jet sizing in the ballpark but it will still be up to you to fine tune.

Yeah, ken mentioned that his float levels were out of whack also

Not only were my floats out of whack so are my reed paddles and they are new.

Reeds could be part of the issue, get yourself some V2 or V3's

The V3's are awesome in my kx500. What ones work better for the lt500r?
-
-
-
V2's are much better than V3's in QR's.

Builds are never done--they only get put on hold by out light pocket books.

I asked the same question when this site first popped up. No one really could tell me why they are so much better.

I thought the v2s were considered better just because they have screw on pedals instead of clip on pedals, is that why??
-
-
-
It's more because of the construction than the actual dyno performance.

I heard most builders get the same hp number out of the 3 as the 2s. The 2 reed petal last alot longer.

-
Dale runs 3's I believe and if I remember right he said there is no performance difference.
But he can speak better to that and I...

I know the V3's are awesome in my kx500. If there is no performance difference why should i buy the V2's and not the V3's for the lt500r ?

2 have alot longer reed life. I talk to one guys that has ran the same 2 for 8 years and just starting to chip around the edges. If you can find a new set of 2 for a good price or used ones go for it. But if not just get a set of 3s and it will be fine. It took me forever to find a set of 2s. But it up to you either one will work good.

I just ordered brand new V2's $148.95 free shipping. Is that a good price?
