lt500r compression
« on: October 06, 2015, 10:05:50 am »
I've got a question. So I have a slight knocking noise that is noticeable at idle, nothing severe sounding but noticeable. Not sure if it's a normal sound or if something is wrong.

Did a compression check, gets 120lbs of pressure.

This is a recent purchase so don't know the exact specs on the internals if it's been bored etc...

However curious if a light knock is present at idle, and of 120 lbs is cause for concern.

IIRC, 160psi is what you should be at stock.

120psi is low. Most likely a worn piston and the knock is really piston slap.
