The timing tab and the pickup coil can be placed in any position around the crank such that it gives you the correct timing for engine to run. Lt's just happen to be located at @ 4 o clock. Trx is if I remember correctly about 1 o clock.  Both systems give a similar timing at startup all that matters is the capacitor is charged and pickup relative to the timing tab to be correct for intended timing.
