Reading the one thread where Jerry mentioned having to bore out the steel sleeve completely, I had a question. This cylinder has a chrome type bore. It's from around '85-6. I was told that it's a good one, that it revved quicker because of the coating. Grk made a comment that since not that many were produced it might not work. Good point. My experience with a Tecate and a kx electrofusion lined cyl it did rev faster.
But the question is could a aluminum sleeve be installed after boring out the steel sleeve on a Zilla cyl, port match to current specs then nikasil it? Would there be any benefit piston life or otherwise? Any insight?
