Got around to putting my 500 back together and noticed there were no thrust washers in the crank or piston. I am at a loss for words.
Is a special tool required to split the cases? How bad is it that these parts are missing?
I am referring to number 6 & 9

Thanks
There were none that I could see; and the piston moved back and forth as did the crank.
Sometimes they are hard to see got any pics
Part # 9 is probably there but you cannot usually see it unless you push the OEM rod to the extreme left or right to see it. Part # 9 has the same outside diameter as the rod bearing and sometimes runs inside the edge of the con rod where it is difficult to see. If you have a Hot Rod, I do not think that Hot Rod uses Part # 9
Here are some pcis. Pardon my terrible camera.
I panicked about my crank also as it will move side to side but that is normal. They are probably there.
The piston wrist pin however does need them.
You can see the crank washers. They are definitely missing on the piston.
MotorGeek, do the billet ones you sell fit a 500?
Yeah HPR has 500 Billet Washers. I just installed some. Good price too.
x2 on the HPR washers,he even sells ya the RM bearing too.
The RM bearing applies to 500s too?
Yes they do, i ordered a set for my friends 500 but got then from mitch, the super forum moderator.
