Just ordered a set for my rebuild :)

In case people don;t know they make the following in AFM

Basegasket
Clutch Cover gasket
Stator Gasket
Intake Gasket
PV Window gasket (from a RM250)

I love all of these gaskets as I can take it apart anywhere and put it back together and not worry about breaking a gasket or having to find a new one to use.

I've had the clutch and stator off at least 10 times same gasket no prob, same in intake and just ordered a PV window B/C the OEM one ripped and I'm sick of not being able to re-use it or having to be extra careful when I do work on the motor.

K&S Gaskets are automotove approved "die cut paper gaskets" and will work just like the OEM gaskets.
The Cometic gaskets are the next level up (Aluminum -  Foam Material) The AFM is a chemically blown, compounded nitrile synthetic rubber bonded to an aluminum core with temperature resistance of over 250F. AFM material has an 85% recovery while maintaining strong torque retention. AFM does not require gasket sealers or re-tightening.

k+s gaskets are junk.  there seals are too.  there 500 gaskets were all off, didn't line up.  and i used there seal kit and every seal leaked on me.  replaced them all with oem, didn't leak again.

i use cometic paper gaskets never had a problem.  but a afm would be nice for the clutch cover, wouldn't stick and tear.

No wonder the price is so cheap! Full gasket set for '87-90 LT500 $21.99 HA!

Thanks for posting that, I was going to buy one just to have as a spare.

You won't need a head gasket.  As for base gaskets, get a variety of thicknesses.

I would call or email Cometic. I still get all my 250 stuff there as I did 20 years ago.
