I only mentioned that because I was running an sblt case saver when it broke the bosses off my case.
Nothing against the case saver, it's a great piece and bulletproof...wasn't damaged in the least when the chain let loose.
I'm also not saying that running a case saver is worse than not running one, because sometimes the chain just feeds right through and doesn't cause any damage at all.
Until something like a frame mounted case saver is made, sblt's is probably the best option.

Think about this though, if the case saver was made of chromoly steel and the chain got bound up between the saver and the sprocket, do you think those bosses are going to stay put?
They're going to be ripped clean off the case along with the case saver.
Something attached to the frame wouldn't damage the case and would absorb all of the damage into a replaceable part.
A lot easier to buy a new part than repair a set of cases.
