500 ignition timing
« on: April 15, 2013, 05:30:19 am »
Does anyone have experience with adjusting the ignition timing on a 500?  I have a friend doing some R&D on a 250 with a programmable MSD ignition.  I'm just curious if anyone else has messed with timing.

I run MSD on my big motor. I like it alot. Costs a little bit to get it going though. The MSD 4217 is like 350. Than a battery, coil, pickup & somehow to program the box. That would be computer and a datalink connector.

I have been looking at them but haven't done anything yet. There's a couple out there on 500s they had some trouble with the stators. I know of Hondas running them with no trouble at all , not sure if they just don't like the acsystem or what.
