Hybrid dyno
« on: April 15, 2013, 05:06:46 am »
Run 46 is from a few years ago and the other is the new one.

The old set up is as follows; Dr Q/Shearer exhaust. Port work. cut stock head. boyseen rad valve. stock 38mm carb.

New set up is as follows; Dr Q/Shearer exhaust. slightly different port work.  vm44 carb.  vforce 3, cool head with some dome.  This run was also with a different cylinder.  Bosses are welded and the cylinder was resleeved to stock bore.

Nothing compares to the low/mid range power of a large displacement, single cylinder two stroke.  I've rode this thing around for like 10 minutes on pavement.  It's a monster.

It's a custom dome machined from a blank using 93 octane.

Nobody in Cincinnati has an atv/cart dyno. What a rip off!

I've never been able to find one around Cincinnati.  You will be driving a little if you want to dyno.

Thats impressive for 93 octane. Have you tested race gas to see if it will make more power?

We also made a few runs using 93 mixed with race fuel.  I forget what octane the race fuel was.  93 octane made the most power, even though the differences were minimal.

I wish I didn't have to spend $15 a gallon for race fuel. Have you checked the crown for evidence of deto?

I put on about 2-3 hours of run time on this engine so far.  I have it apart right now because it kept popping out of second gear.  I have inspected the dome.  I will check it tonight.  The dome should be clean.  The dome was matched to the piston.
