Fleabay has this pvl ignition system. No lighting coils to fail.  The low reciprocating weight has to help let it rev quickly for sure but what other benefits can this provide?

The benefit of not riding at night or in wet conditions, and the other benefit of owning a part that's not being made anymore...who needs replacement parts anyway?
Also, why worry about a lighting coil going out?
That doesn't affect operation of the engine.
