Anyone know what happened to Jetski?  He built a chromoly zilla frame.

How difficult would it be to mod a stock zilla frame to have the narrower front end?  but still use zilla aarms?  I'm picking up a roller monday so i'll have something to experiment on.

The narrow frame would be great, with longer arms to bring it back to stock width or wider.

Jetskis cro mo frame is sweet. Wouldn't mind seeing that one again.

Right, by "still use zilla aarms", i meant be able to aftermarket zilla arms.  I want to do a long travel setup.

I had talked to him at one point and he said he was still going to do it, but I havnt seen anything in a couple years on him.

I don't care what setup you have the best money spent is REAL SHOCKs BUILT FOR YOUR APPLICATION.
Stadium, Elka, custom axis, Pep.
The key to good handling is proper spring rates and valving. Some shocks can be rebuilt to work good but usually cost nearly as much as full custom.

Carl is right!
An LT suspension will handle better when the shocks and springs are tuned to your quad and riding environment (don't forget to tune your steering and camber, as well as longer a-arms and such), as opposed to OEM shocks on a new 4-stroke.
Our suspension does have its limits, but most people will never NEED that much to begin with.

I'm gonna be doing a hybrid frame real soon. I'm gonna get my sister or the neighbor kids to help me get the pictures on here for you guys. I'm building the motor now. 88 lt250 motor, ported, polished, port matched case matched hot rods crank and bearings, havent decided on FTZ YZ piston Or RM Bearing with alum thrust washers.
I'm gonna hack an 87 frame I got, build a steel (maybe chromoly) square tube swinger, and either a YFZ or 400ex front clip. Just depends on which one comes with the most front end parts cheapest. I think the YFZs are more readily available is because more YFZs busted cases when they blew, so more people parted them out

Someday I'll have the funds to do built my clipped Hybrid chassis for the track. I just have such a hard time staring over buying nice front end components.

Seems like the LTR would be a superior setup, and in keeping with an all-Suzuki build.

I assume its because there are a million YFZ out there since 2005 vs. the LTR. Its cheaper to get YFZ parts.
actually the first yfz was in 04 and they are currently being a made again after a few years off with only a yfz-r or x version was being made.

I was thinking YFZ, or trx400, or 450r because there seem to be more of them parting out. I'm starting to lean toward the 400ex because I like the frame geometry on them and there's lots of good used parts everywhere also the older ones can be had cheap when they blow up.

I am thinking this is a good reason to go with a hybrid set up. You guys building these conversions with out frame tables and jigs ? Mig or tig welding ? Any more pics ?

I cut off the front of my frame, bent new tubing, and tigged it all back together.  Made all new mounts, installed 2016 YFZ450R shocks and control arms.
Made a new mount on the factory swingarm and bolted on a YFZ450R rear shock as well.  The YFZ450R suspension has a ton more travel than regular YFZ450 suspension.
