Thanks for the help

No, raptor shock wont fit without modification. There is no shock that fit lt250r unless you plan to do modification.

Ok thanks for the quick reply I just figured if they work $850 for front and reals are a good deal.

Raptor fronts are 15.75 if I'm not mistaken. Depending on eye width, you COULD use them, theoretically. You would most likely need to revalve also. The rear won't work though.

why can't the rear be used?  it has the correct pivot ends.  i know raptor rears are used on 84-85 tecates, an there about as long as a lt250r shock.

so i wouldn't say no, anything can be made to fit.

Hi^  Dont mean to hijack thread---similar question different machine.   Anyone know if Zilla shocks will work on 660 raptor.  I have extra set of PEP modded stock zilla fronts I am considering putting on my raptor as they are better than the stock 660 rappy shocks. I think the zilla fronts are about 1 inch or so shorter than the raptors--assuming they even fit what effect would this have.

the eye width is too wide to fit directly on the lt's but you dont have to take much off. i have raptor 660 shocks on the front of my 89 and a raptor 700 on the rear. the rear needs a small bushing made for the lower bolt, other than that it works great. i have about 150 dollars in 3 shocks and they can be adjusted to work very well.

Alright the elkas are 16 3/8" eye to eye and the rears are 14.5.  Isnt almost a inch and a half quite a difference up front  especially if the rear sagged another half inch lower.  Maybe some long travel extended A-arms could fix this but then my savings on the shocks would be lost in other parts.

I have a Works Black Widow shock for a Raptor 700 on my hybrid.  It was rather easy to install.

"89LT", are you running stock A-arms with those shocks? I am trying to do something similar with my quad and want to know if it will work. I ordered a set of YFZ450 shocks, which I believe are the same length as the raptor shocks you are running. I would like to install them on my 1990 LT250, I was just wondering if there was any issue with the height of the shocks. I've seen people use the YFZ shocks on an LT before but they usually run +2 A-arms and I am running stock. I measured my stock shocks eye to eye and they measure a tad bit over 15 inches. The stock YFZ shocks measure 15.75.

i have an 04 yfz here that im doing some maintenance on and the front shocks were 15 3/4" eye to eye, they resemble the 700 raptor se shocks  that are 16" eye to eye, i dont know the size of the pogo stick raptor shocks on the 660/non-SE 700 but a friend of mine is running them on a 89 zilla, they felt a bit stiffer than stock but that can have something to do with the zilla shock being >10yrs older than the raptor shock.  with the 700se and yfz shocks, they are both piggy back style but the yfz has a progressive rate spring and the 700 has a single rate, stiffer spring. when raptor guys swap in yfz shocks on 700 raptors it lower their ride height about an inch.
