Clutch cable length with high bars
« on: January 09, 2015, 06:32:12 pm »
So I just got a set of pro taper atv high bars. They are perfect and what I want on the quad, but the stock clutch cable is not long enough any way I run it. It will reach the perch and I can hook it up but the plastic will not fit because the cable is pretty tight. What are you guys doing to solve this problem. I can't imagine the stock cable would work with a riser steering stem and I am not the only guy running higher bars. Any cable routing help or longer cable options is what I need. I need about 2 inches for the cable to fit well

Yeah, the motion pro cable is different. I checked it out today at the local shop. Had my cable right next to it. Did u cut your bars down? How do you have it the cable run?

I don't think the motion pro is any longer. In face I know it isn't. I had them side by side and the ends matched up exact. Let me know how you have your cable ran. Right now I have it around the steering stem. I Don't really like the thought of that.

I think I will contact motion pro and see if they can make a cable that is a few inches longer. I have read somewhere that they will do that.

Hey roach I saw a pic of your lt. I don't have the same bars as u do. My bars are higher than yours appear to be. How do you like the aSV clutch lever? I am looking at either the aSV or a works connection. Leaning twords the wc. I think I still plan on getting a cable made by motion pro.
