Florida Tracks and Trails
« on: June 18, 2013, 07:35:34 pm »
Located on Bermont Rd in Punta Gorda Florida. 5 different progressively more dificult mx tracks designed by Dream Trax. 12 MILLION dollar facility, literally the 6 Flags of outdoor motorsports. Entire facility is under construction now, all permits are passed by Charlotte County, they will be COMPLETELY up and running in about 12-18 months. Amphitheater, ziplines, sand drags, hours of trail riding without seeing the same spot twice. You all will definitely be seeing this one nation wide folks!!!

what about that track called dirty foot raceway? heard it opened up and than shut back down b/c of noise complaints.. skully was telling me about it and there is another guy goes by the name of rjatv or furious465 on other sites has been there. thats pretty cool though to have a place like that. are they looking at it being a sanctioned race track? like AMA outdoor?

DFA is done. Owners are bankrupt. What happened was that they had like 2000 acres, and they opened them up to paying public. Original Polk County permits were only granted for the front 80 acres. The church down the toad ffiled noise complaints and it was downhill from there. Geno, who was the guy running the track, is now managing FTT, and I was taking care of a plumbing issue at one of his friends house, told me that ALL of FTTs paperwork is approved, and they are solid. No shut downs at this place will occur.

I'm sure that there will be AMA events as well. The big track will be about the same as the track at Dirty Foot, and the trail system will most likely be set up for an occasional Hare Scramble/XC race.

Geno is also friends with Jim/Skully. The minute that he releases the good word on tracks and trails opening, I will definitely post up here. This place is DEFINITELY worth the trip!! Even guys that don't run MX, there is a track for you. You can even bring out your race golf cart as well! There's a track for that ;)

Where in Tampa are you Zillalicious?
