HottButta: That was a Matt Shearer built Banshee (of course the thing is going to scream), and Matt will have to respond on what was in it. Matt was out there and had a few toys with him. That guy video bombed our race..... lol! But hey! It was a
really nice bike.... but Banshees are a whole 'nother level. I will post some pics tomorrow of some other Banshees that were there. One trick purple one was from Wild Card Racing. We waited a few hours for that one to run against someone, but no one took the bait while we were there. He was changing the gearing anyway.
Mad Max: I offered to put stakes up (at least for a clear finish), but I didn't have time to stop by Home Depot as it was totally an after thought.

I was told that it was supposed to be fun anyway and it's not that serious. But I think you can tell by the posts how serious this matchup was.
Stpltn250r: Matt Shearer had a radar detector out there, but I don't think he was ready for the sudden "single pass" that happened either... so we don't have a reading on the speed of their run.

Matt.....?
Buckeye513: THERE WAS ONLY ONE PASS MADE WITH DALE. RK made a few runs later with Jaime and Kennerz on the yellow 500's, Aaron on the black HPR 500, and also with some dirt bikes. And actually, Jaime beat RK at least twice.
Most races like this that I have seen over the years are not with lanes or stakes (but I have seen lanes at Glamis on Thanksgiving weekend). Most often it is not a competition for money or trophies, with sponsors, advertising or announcers. This is just two guys who are trying to prove who's bike is faster based on the builder. Guys like this line up all the time at every dune hill out there. It's all for bragging rights.

And yes, usually guys will make several passes when they race. I have never seen a race as big as this one where both bikes are running good and one guy just gives up.

After that one pass, RK went back to his group, took his helmet off, and called it a day. Dale rolled over there to find out what was up, and even offered to make it best 3 out of 5 passes - but Robert refused. Imagine what it was like for the spectators knowing you drove 5-6 hours for ONE 15 second run? We were in complete shock and as spectators .... felt gyp'd.
No one can trash talk Dr. Q's stuff - he builds good bikes - and others do too. and if
we don't watch what we say, this thread will be closed too. We don't want that.
Mitch? Is there a way for you to just delete certain posts?
