Is there much difference in potential of the 87 big intake 250,s and the 88+ small intake?

So what applications are each model of engine suited best for?  Is the 87' better for dunes? Or is it better suited for mx track racing? What are the bulletproof 85' & 86''s best for?

Big reed has a higher flow potential so its an advantage when trying to build a high hp engine.both top ends can be used for mx or dunes. Just have them ported for your application.

Do the 85' and 86' models stand out in any way? Maybe they are not the highest hp of the bunch, but what about torque?
