They wont fix the pipes if they don't know they have a issue (AAEN).

I agree quality control was not part of the program. Something happened to that jig..............or they just don't care.  D?
Ain't ever seen it......but I have heard it.

No offense, but whatever happen to Quality Control before shipping a product? Cant blame China when American MFG docent take any pride in our own work, especially when they are one off custom hand made parts.
Mike how much effort have I put in to make sure the DCS pipes fit correctly?

I know you spent considerable effort into making your pipes fit correctly. Rear fender clearance, frame & overflow bottle clearance, tie rod cycling clearance, fit and finish.... All taken into account. I'm stoked it went right on no hassles.

Don't you have pipes from your last production run up for sale? Or they at the platers ?

Hi^ Yup, 2 pipes double plated and 2 pipes triple plated polished, also modifying the silencers for OEM rubber bushings, picking them up today or tomorrow.

Aaen = 1/2 price of others with similar performance.  I'll deal with the fit issues for the $

A easy fix is NOT getting the welder out and working on thin wall steel tubing. Maybe for some............ S~

i cant remember what they did, but i think it was something very easy to do.

Would you get the welder out to save $300+?

Well that pipe aint cheap if you upgrade anything on it, I went with the quite silencer  for noise and ceramic coatings to protect the finish.
LOL my invoice has a discount due to complaining of the cost and craftsmanship. Was over $800 at the time they wanted to invoice me.
$193 bucks to ceramic coat the pipe, and they wouldnt coat the exhaust flange, cost an extra $25 bucks to do so.
again for the $400 version its a better upgrade than FMF I guess

Quiet silencer causes pistons to burn down. Who needs coating? Lol

Think they are a bit more plus the ride, but check the invoice I paid $270 for the pipe before coating

I bought two of these Aaen pipes and both had fitment issues, amazingly enough they both had different fitment issues. We had to do some tweaking for them to fit.

Something that is built in a jig should all have the same fit.  It sounds like it may not be a jig problem.  It sounds more like a craftsmanship issue with consistency from one pipe to the next.   All pipes should fit or all pipes should not fit if they were all  made in the same jig.  With the low production numbers of these pipes there is no reason for having more than one jig for the Lt 500.

So how many guys have had pistons fry do to the Aaen sparky silencer, i have a brand new one here, never used in the box, i can take it apart, it has bolts not rivets, and post pics of the inside to compare with other silencers,  if any of the pipe builders want to dissect it.  It would not be fair to blame piston failure on a silencer type  if  only 1 person claims it did.

Small update.. after i emailed Aaen, they said they were going to call me, they did and left a message that said they were going to follow up the next week which never happened.. they were wondering if there was maybe a difference between the years but i dont think there is (as far as fitment goes).  The fix was pretty simple if you can, or know someone who can weld.  All said and done the pipe rips on top end.  I still have to shift on quarter mile ice track but but hey.. its a 2 stroke. i did not get the ceramic coating and the pipe turned a sick blue and purple color. I also melted the chit out my synthetic snowboard pants all over it.. oops!
