Maybe i am missing something (and more often than not this is the case) but i cant even get my new aaen pipe to come close to getting on

I cant figure out where the tab is suppose to mount for the chamber. The silencer doesn't even look close -

Seems like mine was the same way. Had to get a spare mid pipe and cut the original in half at the straightest area possible and weld in a section about 1.5 to 1.75 long. Had to clock the mid pipe so it would let the silencer bolt up. If I can find the pics I will post them up.

Looks like the they didnt follow the jig correct, call Aaen up and see if they will fix this for you, I went through this also on my Aaen, and also went through this on my DCS pipes, the jig has to be set up perfect or nothing will fit correct, found this out the hard way.
One of the main things I noticed when designing a pipe is for some reason the silencer always has some kind of fit issues, I worked with 4 different frames and every one fitted a bit different with the same pipe/silencer so I made the slip over for the stinger about 1.250" longer for adjustment, since I use the silicone hose to clamp the 2 ends together and makes it easier to adjust the fit.

Here is what it looked like with the main pipe mounted and the silencer mounted up. The mid pipe was way off.

I than acquired another mid pipe from Deebo. Looked at what I had to do and cut it at this weld closest to the spring tabs for the silencer.

What it looked like with the mid pipe cut in half and with both sections on there corresponding parts, (one on the main pipe and the other on the silencer)

I than measured the missing section and cut it out of the other mid pipe I had got. Tacked it in place. Than removed it for final welding and cleaned up the welds and what it looked liked after.

I dont think mine was as bad as yours. I no longer have the pipe and this was all the pictures I had of how I fixed it.

I sold mine also, the fitting issues tore up my frames powder coating in the same section, some folks are happy with the Aaen, for me I wasnt happy with the products, even bought a pipe from them at the same time for the kids Polaris 250 (which had a ding in it when it arrived) both were the ceramic coating so I spent a few bucks with them, Hope they have there act together now.

Rider, at the time when Q was MIA there was no LT500 exhaust offered that made any power other than HPR at the time, and at that time the issues that folks had with Q pipe were being addressed by Aaen, and had a close to the same power band, the fit issues have been going on from day one on those pipes ( LT500 and the Hybrids).
Some folks have been posting that they have fixed these issues, can anyone confirm this?
Also I read here that the larger Silencer causes problems also.

Not trying to hijack the thread but how did the Polaris pipe fit?I,m guessing it would fit well?Aaen was very reputable at building snomo pipes and CVT transmissions.They seem to cater their aftermarket towards Polaris as far as ATV,s which as you know are CVT.

I,ve had good luck with some snomo pipes but if i ever decide to upgrade my Zilla pipe it isn,t going to be Aaen after seeing this.It sucks to see guys having fitment issues that are that far off.The only good thing if there is one is other members can avoid the possibility of the same issues by seeking other options.

Have to say Mitch pipe looks very interesting.

It was a almost a straight pipe, fitted with no problems on the Trial Blazer 250, what I did'nt know was that you had to use the OEM header and exhaust flange #9 and #10, you would have thought they would have made those items as part of the pipe.
Plus I had to send them out to be ceramic coated to match the rest of the pipe. From now on, I will just go and have my pipe/silencers custom made from now on.

Now im in the process of modifying the mid pipe and i figured id make sure i was all good to go with clearing the plastic and guess what.. im not! so ill probably have to cut the mounts off the silencer and move them too.. makes me wish i found a used q pipe

Ec flattracker, if you have not started cutting the mid pipe already i can take pictures of how the mid pipe sits on my Aaen, mine fit exactly like yours when i got it but all i did was removed about 1 inch max. off the front pipe collar which was about 3-4 inches long. Doing that changed the angle of how the silencer lined up at the back. Than i used a step drill bit and made the holes much larger and fit rubber grommets inside and between the tabs and frame. You will need to beef up the tab welds at silencer or they will brake off if you plan on ridding rough trails.

Haha its all sliced up, thanks anyway tho, i just about got it, and im going to move the whole silencer back some.. i just drilled new holes in the tabs that came on it for now i got racing to do next weekend, if they break.. which im sure they will ill figure something out like you got.

well since its going to be like 50 this week i think our best bet might be to find some dirt.. they were going to check Sacandaga but i dont think it makes sense to do it till later in the week... and no i havnt called them... they obviously don't have a zilla there to try this stuff on so i figure my best bet is to just fix it myself and cut my losses there's one tab on the biggest part that's close to the one mounting hole so i bent up a piece of steal for that.. then another by the chain guard.. don't know vat se fock im supposed to do with that one

Good gawd.. I was planning on buying a aaen, but now, no way. I was under the impression that it took a lil bit of tweaking the mid pipe, cutting a lil off the stinger, but if this above is normal, ill just keep saving for a better pipe.
I cant believe aaen is not addressing a product with so many problems.

Building and using a pipe jig is far from rocket science. There is no excuse for a pipe not fitting unless your pipe jig mounting points consists of strings that are swinging and hanging from the ceiling or you are not using skilled pipe fabricators. Maybe the pipes should be advertised as a pipe kit and some assembly/modification required up on delivery.

Send the pipe back and make them fix the problem. As long as people continue to fix the problem at thier own expense, manufactures will continue to crank out inferior products.

Hope fully they will take action to resolve problems associated with their product.

As suggested if you own one of their pipes and are having problems, you should contact them to see if they can fix the jig and get owners updated mid pipes to make you a satisfied customer.

No offense, but whatever happen to Quality Control before shipping a product? Cant blame China when American MFG docent take any pride in our own work, especially when they are one off custom hand made parts.
Mike how much effort have I put in to make sure the DCS pipes fit correctly?
