I just got this quad for 660 $ its my first one an no1 around here has one

so i want to trail ride but also race when these 450r an stock shee guys talk smack

lol but any advice on any mods thanks guys
Lets see some pics of the $660.00 Zilla.
A correctly set up cylinder head will help reliability and performance, main brg pocket distortion in the cases.
In stock condition detonation occurs, running hi octane fuel eliminates associated problems.
Where's some pics
To be honest with you -
A good running mildly tuned Zilla is plenty fast. Spend your money on making it reliable first. You start throwing money at big pipes, you start to find big problems like Dez said.
I got my first Zilla as a non runner. Put a big pipe on it, porting, etc; and its a beast. Not really a trail bike anymore. I picked up another Zilla that's stock. Its pretty milked out but is still a strong runner. I have a YFZ450 as a comparison.
$660 if its for a runner! Thats absolute theft!
I got a cherry 87 zilla about a year ago, like others have said, do reliability upgrades first, then build power.
1. Check compression. Should be around the 150 range at sea level.
2. If there is Any reason to tear down the top end, use a wiseco piston, 99 rm 250 wrist pin bearing, And billet thrust washers.
3. Pull the stator side cover and check the flywheel for any play. It should be tight. If its not, you need to split the cases and have inserts, bearings, seals, maybe crank trued and balanced if its bad.
4. Best fix for the head is getting it o ringed, and cut for proper squish, coolant passages etc. Iceracer, HPR and maybe some others can do it for you.
5. The stock 87 zilla carb has some issues. Contact HPR for advice/ mods.
6. Only use race gas. The ethanol and inconsistancy of pump gas is bad bad bad for any 2 stroke. These are awesome bikes but not cheap to run if you want them to stay together.
Im sure there are other things to improve, but these are the basics to address before you start to add real power.
Also use AFM gaskets. These and the billet washers, etc should be availabe in the store.
Spend the money to O-ring the head!!!!!! saves you money in the long run lol
Assuming the motor runs well top end is still good the Biggest bang for the buckSSS will be a modern big pipe Q pipes, HPR, AAen, Mitches pipes)-- but before a big pipe rechamber the head so you dont destroy your toy and it will run better too. If the 87 carb is stock it needs some mods and be dialed in.. Stock the 87 carbs like to lean out on deceleration and cause problems.
Order of importance in my opinion
1--carb dialed in
2 -head properly done--oring is nice to have and saves money in long run but not necessary if $$ are very tight
3- pipe
Of the 3 yourmost power is in the pipe, but you need to address the first two of your joy would be short lived. MY m.02
here they are i already had these i can take more if you guys would like
