I sold my FMF pipe off my 85’!  I had that pipe since I bought it way back in 2000!  Almost 20 years and no dents or rust, great toning too.  Now it’s time for Kenny Roberts to make me a custom pipe finally   +k2

Howdy, I am a new member on this forum. I bought my 1992 Lt250r on the 3rd, and today I used to start teaching my sister how to ride a 2 stroke.

Unfortunately, it won’t let me upload pictures. It is pretty rusty, but in overall good shape. My major dilemma right now is on how do I fit a 38mm carb on here? I tried boiling the stock boot, and it kind of worked. Extremely tight fit though. Even still, my airbox to carb boot is messed up. I have a zilla intake, but the carb angle is different. The airbox to carb boot from the zilla doesn’t clear the shock either. So I’m not sure what to do. Running the airbox is preferred, but not necessary. Anyone have suggestions?

I use tapatalk to upload pics
I use a LED honda trx250r intake for my 92 hybrid.
It's not exact but seems to work good

Oh wow, that intake looks good. Does the rubber piece touch the shock at all? I looked at LED's website, and they have two versions. One is for 1986, and the other is for 1987-1989. Which one do you have? I'm not sure how to use tapatalk

It's a tight fit yes but the part it runs against is a non moving part.
I will have to check which version it is

Ok, I see. This will probably be the best way for me to go. Thank you! It is too bad that there is no coverage against water, because I will be riding in the snow and ice quite a bit when winter hits. It should be ok. I can figure out some way of covering it if need be.

I'm not sure which year as they didnt list different years when I bought it (at a push I'd say 87-89)
This is using a 500 angled reed/carb boot obviously
Are you sure the 500 airbox to carb boot doesnt work?

I can get it on the carb, but it touches both the frame and the shock. Is this a bad thing? I also don’t have anything to mount the boot onto, as the stock airbox won’t work. I see you have an aluminum piece that it clamps onto. Is that something I could buy, or did you make that?

SB design airbox delete part.
It's always a case of making things work with these things..
Not a huge aftermarket parts market for these sadly

I see it on the store. For the lt500 correct? It says out of stock, just like most everything else on the store. Do they actually make that stuff anymore?

I don’t have Facebook, but I’ll ask my friend to look. Is there a reason you use the trx intake over the zilla with the airbox delete?

Do you think it would fit better on a non hybrid compared to the zilla boot?

Are the airbox the same on the later LT250s from the earlier ones??? I have a PWK 38 on my 87 using the stock intake boot and airbox...I had to heat of the intake to get the carb in,used a pipe expander to carefully expand the carb to airbox boot and moved the airbox itself back slightly.....I can post some pics if it helps.......I'm just not sure if the later LT airbox is the same as my 87 has a different rear suspension setup with the link in it.
