Brought home a Really Nice 1991 LT 250R
« on: December 17, 2012, 12:24:49 am »
I found this on craigslist in Havasu City, Az.  It's about 5 hours away from San Diego. It needs a freshening up of some components but overall I'd say it's not bad.

I also have an '88 LT 250R and a '90 LT 500. But lately I've been having more fun with the 250's.  I've posted a pic of my '88 in the picture section of this forum but I'll throw it up again here to compare with a '91. There's actually more differences between these two machines then I thought.  And can someone tell me who at Suzuki came up with the wild seat design of the '91-'92 Lt's? No wonder so many people changed the seat cover back in the day.

I like the camo style graphics and heel guards of the 91-92's.
How much did you get it for?

I paid $1,860 for it and was planning on driving up to get it. But the seller was really cool and he told me about Uship and within about 2 days I had an offer from a guy to deliver it for $178.00. That's almost about how much gas I would have had to buy and I didn't have to spend 10 hours on the road.

very nice 250 you got there, i seen it on ebay a few weeks ago.
you got a steal of a deal on it, and shipping was really cheap.

Very nice looking machine.  Is it original or restored?  If that is original, you have a rare find.  Love it.

I have had my 89 250 since I was senior in high school but it is in need of a restoration...  Too many creeks, trails and sand dunes through the years.

Nice quads, man!

It's all original. But I have to say that florescent lighting is very deceiving. It looks brand new in the picture but it does have wear and things like brakes and suspension are worn and need to be rebuilt.

Man I'm freakin jealous!! Those are beautiful! That 91' would be a good deal at almost any price!! I just finished a resto on my 88' 250 but I made the desicion that it would be my main bike for riding and sadly I discovered the reality of just how fast 4 months of hard work will look like after a hard day at the track!!:(

Yep, camo is the best...
I've got two different types of camo graphics on my fenders (apparently it wasn't just one design) and a camo seat for my next build.
One set doesn't even have washer marks on the mounting tabs!

Nice find. The 91 92 swinger is a bit heavier then the 87 to 90 and requires a bit more effort to install.
Success only come before work in the dictionary.
