new here with a 91lt250r... questions

hey guys new here from washington state seattle area.. im usually on the trx websites cause i have a couple of those but always wanted to own the LT also.. a guy i know had one he bever rode so i bought it off him for 750$. he really didnt know what he had.. he had the sand paddles on backwards!! lol.. anyways it has a twist throttle but i want to convert it over to a thumb and also switch over to a 36-38 kiehin carb.. i know i need some porting n polish and bigger pipe for the bigger carbs.. as i know now from what i can see on the outside it has a cool head, bills pipe, stock mikuni and stock reeds.. what year thumb throttles can switch over and does anybody happen to have one i can purchase.. paypal is ready to go!!

I don't know if it's right, but I put a kehin and thumb throttle from a Trx on mine when I got it. My bike was stock and I know the kehins and didn't have jets for the Mikuni. As far as I can tell, it works fine.

Nice to see someone from the PNW, Im in Kennewick. My 90 has a twist throttle i want to get rid of too lol

All 87-92 250 throttles and cables will work. I hate keihin carbs, have the stock one bored or find a zilla carb.
If brains were gasoline, you couldn't power a **** ant's go-cart 2 laps around a cheerio.

Always good the see more people from the PNW. I use Moose racing billet thumb throttle with a Mikuni carb.

If your still neesing the thumb throttle there is alway terry cable throttles. I'm pretty sure they work and they r really nice..

Also I think your paddles are on backwards if I'm not mistaken

ive seen many people put them on backwards because it makes them a bit easier to roll around for storage and whatnot, the turn them around when its time to ride

I use a 38mm kienin on my 250. What a pain to tune. Runs great but jetting....
If I could go back I'd bore the stock carb.

Yea thats true he may have had them on backwards to move around easier but yet again he didnt know much about the bike and kept talking about parts of a 4 stroke when explaining it to me so i knew he was full of **** lol
