I put a new top end in my bike but wen I got it on the bike it wouldnt shift. I tried everything externally. While the engine was out of the bike I cleaned the clutch side and the flywheel side of the bottom end. While reassembling the top end I broke the flange off the bottom of the sleeve. And while it was on the table it dropped. Since then I have put a new sleeve and piston in and had a "professional" put it back together. She shifted fine before all of this happened so im a bit confused as to what happened. Please shed some light on my situation I really need it.
shift problem is related with the shifter shaft , shift fork , shift drum and gears dog . Nothing in relation with top end. When i put the tranny together and the two crankcase, i test my tranny. with the clutch cover removed, chutch removed and drive chain removed, you should be able to move the shifter by hand simply by turning the transmission shaft to help gear dog to engage you can run through all gears . if the shift drum is suck , somewhere is wrong in tranny and you should split crankcase to inspect each tranny component
