I'm selling an 88' FMF Power Core silencer to a guy with an 86' w/ DG pipe. He was worried if it would work.

Nope. The exhaust exit on the engines are in completely different locations on the motor. Also, the frame is different in front of the engine: 86 has a straight frame bar in front of the engine and the 87+ was a wishbone shape frame to accommodate the changed exhaust exit location.

Not talking about a fmf pipe, I'm asking about fmf silencer that goes on the end of the pipe.

Sorry, buzzed right over that part. Still, it is different. The 85/86 bikes have a three part exhaust system with an actual mid pipe. Also, the silencer on an 85/86 has a single mount screw hole whereas the 87+ has two.
