SB designs case saver

Will the sb deaigna case saver work if the bolt studs or whatever you would call them are broken? The chain musta blew on the bike I have before I owned it and broke them off. I wouldn't imagine it would work but I'm sure someone knows for sure.

It should still work. Just make sure threads are clean before you put it on. If they are busted all the way off you might need to put a washer or to behind it so when you tighten it up it does not bind it in any way.

Put up a picture of it and we can say too hard to tell with nothing to go off of.

I will tonight when I'm home. One of the bolts is stuck, I tried drilling and using the easy out, but I didn't have success. I was afraid of drilling into the case also. If all else a brand new chain is going on before I ride it anywhere and I will keep it oiled well.

any engine shops close to you that you can talk to? might have to remove the engine and use a drill press if possible to be precise

I have the hole drilled perfectly in the center of the old bolt. But I don't know how deep the bolt runs into the case. I need a larger easy out than I have as well.

Once you get it out. I used 2 pieces of short all-thread and red loctited then in like studs.  Works great.

Don't bother wasting your time.  I dont know why they call them case savers anyway. they should call them case destroyers ! Just put a   did x ring   chain on new high quality sprockets use a laser to align front to rear sprockets set the correct tension clean chain with kerosene as did recommends and use  chain wax just like they ship it  and forget about it. Don't worry about your heel either if the  chain breaks as so many cheap ones have it wont touch you. It will blow the case saver off as well as a hole in the stator case.  I can post pics of carnage from running  chain just a little off center if you want. It's a nightmare at least i saved my chunks to weld back on.  Sure would have been nice if someone saved yours before you got it.

Make sure you order the sbt saver for the correct sprocket size, the gap between the saver and chain/sprocket should be minimal so it can't double up on itself and break the bolts. Also you may want to have those cases tigged up before bolt it on, looks like a lot of meat is missing.
