You have to be kidding me...
« on: July 20, 2016, 05:48:59 pm »
First off, Hello and thank you for the add! OK quick question, my brother took my 250r for a ride and some way somehow the drain plug fell out! Well it ended with him over the handlebars and a piston losing its face. Question is this, getting ready to tear it apart and question is Im sure every bearing is TOAST but which ones would I need? Ive checked bike bandit sorted through diagrams and I just cant seem to figure out how many bearings there really is or where to start. Is this rebuildable or am I pretty much wasting my money? any insight is greatly appreciated thank you.

The drain plug falling out of your two stroke, possibly hurt the transmission,  but had nothing to do with the piston breaking.  The piston, connecting rod bearing and main bearings are lubricated by the oil you put in the fuel.  The oil that ran out of the missing drain plug only lubricates the transmission gears, transmission bearings and clutch.

The only way to know if the transmission is hurt is to split the cases and inspect everything.
