Lt 250R sputtering/bogging
« on: April 22, 2023, 02:34:43 am »
Hello,
I'm new in this forum. Living in Finland so sorry about my not so perfect english😅.
I recently picked up a -90 250 quadracer. Mikuni tmx 38 carburator, large foam air filter(no box), HGP silencer and do not know about the exhaust. It looks like an original.
Problem is that it wont idle and wont rev also.  Have changed the plug, cleaned carb 3 times. I Cannot see any numbers on jets. Not main, pilot or jet needle either.
Does anyone have experiences about those mikuni tmx 38 carburators? Jetting suggestions? Or what else could be wrong. Compression is fine(tested), powervalve seems to be working well etc. Have not tested air leaks yet.

Hi and welcome.  I don't know what size jets will work for your engine.  But have you verified that your stock exhaust is not plugged at all? What does your spark plug look like?

I ordered some jets yesterday. Found info about carb settings from another site. Have to check that exhaust also. Spark plug color is not perfect but not bad at all. Thanks for your reply!
