Pulled the clutch cover and this is what I found........what a pisser. Someone did put a Hinson clutch basket on at some point. The fingers got buggered up on the outside edge but should clean up fine with a little file work.
Where did the bolt go?
A good portion was still in one piece , there are some ground up, broke up steel mixed with the aluminum and I'm guessing that was the rest of the bolt. Dunno if any made it into the transmission............guess time will tell.
Well.........I got the new parts and installed them and the clutch won't disengage. I went as far as putting a cresent wrench on the clutch arm to pull it and the clutch still won't disengage. The clutch basket was a little buggered up on the outside edge. I filed on it and the discs slide smoothly......but could it possibly be out of shape or mabey a burr I missed holding the pressure plate? Any suggestions?
Did you get an extra steel or friction in the pack? Stiffer upgraded springs? Spacers behind the springs? It's hard to believe that Hinson basket could be hurt than easy, them things are almost indestructible.

When there is a clutch spring, bolt and part of the clutch hub bouncing around behind the clutch cover bad things happen.
