My 85 started cutting out at a medium-high rpm, I drove it to the house and it struggled to idle and died and wont kick back over.
I just got the 250r a couple months ago, and has been working fine, with some idle and lighting issues that I have been trying to fix.
Compression is around 145-150, no visual leaks, running 40:1 mix
The plug appears to be getting fuel, it is wet, and looks like it is running rich.
I pull the plug and ground it to the block to check the spark, and I am not getting much of a spark, sometimes no spark. No bright blue spark like the manual states.
I am thinking the coil needs replaced. I have had a ohm meter to it and the numbers dont match what the books says it should be at (I will edit with the exact numbers when i'm not at work). I had to replace the connector, and worked fine for awhile.
Is there anyway to check the stator without breaking seals and replacing gaskets?
So far I have removed the light. It was not worth the trouble.
The stock kill switch/high and low beam switch was removed for a push button kill switch prior to me buying it. The kill switch seems to ohm/ground out when pressed.
