1987 250 cylinder, head, reed cage, intake boot
« on: June 14, 2013, 10:56:35 pm »
Like the title says........I got a 1987 cylinder, head, reed cage and intake boot that I'm not going to use so I'd like to sell or trade it off for something I could use.
All of this came with some parts I picked up from a local guy.  I don't know the history on any of it and he really didn't either as it all came with a 250 he bought.  It is all dirty and will need a good cleaning.

-The cylinder had some port work done.  I have no idea who did it and the guy I got it from didn't either.  The power valve is there and spins free, no power valve cover on the cylinder.  Threads are good on the head studs but you can tell the have been removed with a pair of vice grips in the past.  One exhaust stud is missing and one has buggered up threads but would probably clean up fine with a die.  The cylinder has some scoring so it will need to be bored.  The bore measures 2.637".  I tried to get pics that showed the port work and overall condition.

-The head has some dings as pictured

-The reed cage has carbon fiber reeds.  Some genius used rtv at one point to seal it so there is some rtv residue that will need to be cleaned off.

-The boot looks to be in good shape, couldn't see any cracking.  Like the cage it has rtv residue that will need to be cleaned off.

I tried to get pics showing everything the best I could and I can get more if needed.  I really don't know what to ask for it all because I don't know if the port work is good or not but I'll throw out $175.00 shipped or make me a offer.  I'd do some trading for some 250 parts.  I'm looking for a complete stock 34mm carb, set of nerf bars, black grill and cap, 87-90 swing arm with linkage and carrier,  Yamaha front rims with a 4/156 bolt pattern and 3+2 offset......or?
