Pipe to Silencer Connection
« on: October 25, 2012, 11:46:52 am »
Not sure if anyone else is having this issue.  Not sure if I recall anything on it from the long lost treasure of info on the other site.  And did not see anything in a search here.

But the SILICONE rubber hose that gets stretched and clamped on over the pipe to silencer joint has deteriorated.
So, I found this eBAY site (item # 150806069226) where he is selling 1.125-1.5" 3-PLY TURBO/INTAKE INTERCOOLER HIGH TEMP SILICONE REDUCER HOSE BLUE for $9.95.  (many other sizes and some other colors also)

Its made for Hightemp intercooler applications (Withstands operating temperatures from -65F to 500F).  So, will see how it survives.  $10 isn't bad to try it out.

The 1.25 end is a snug fit, and the 1.5 end is a loose fit, but will clamp down nice, and will not be stretched so hard with heat and vibration..

Nice post Gery!  +k2  I have a hard time fitting the silicone over the Q pipe anyway, this looks like it would fit the bill.   Thanks!

Thats the same one I'm running on my shearer pipe. Been about a year now with some hard running and it's still going strong.
