New Pipe & Silencer
« on: September 21, 2012, 11:12:49 am »
Mitch Keller made a limited run of pipes/silencers. I scored one unplated with a spark arrested silencer. After some minor installation modifications and rejetting the 39 pwk carb, took it for a spin. The pipe performed exactly as Mitch said it would. More low end torque & a top end that keeps pulling to 8 grand. The fmf pipe/answer silencer held the Zilla back big time. Hit Mitch up he plans on another limited production run.

I am done after these last few pipes are made, finishing Joe Rocks and Dave Kuskies systems, then no more! this was a "PIA" to continue making these! If I could look back I would have just made the 2 for my quads and be done with it
I now can understand why Shearer and Hall have too charge for there products.  :o

Its got to be a ton of work cutting and rolling each section and then tacking and brazing.

How are the joints connected? It that brazing with acetylene/oxygen? 18 GA Steel?

No Rider, I had these pipes Sub Contracted, figured it was smarter to work with someone having materials, machinery and experience with knowledge on 2 stroke exhaust systems, I only came up with some drawings and ideals from listening to Mr Hall and Mr Shearers and even Mr R.K. from past threads.

Why is the raw pipe completely different than the plated pipe? The pipe sections are all different. Are these the same pipe manufacturer? If so, why are there different pipes for one batch?

The raw pipe pic in the truck bed, was the 2nd revision before production started Beta Version, Dezsled and the plated one are the 3rd and final revision they were tucked in more and routed for lower frame clearance.
