« on: June 24, 2018, 04:19:45 pm »
Hi all.
Newbee from Norway here.
I just bought myself a LT500RH (H is 87 if i´m not wrong) without any plastic. My goal is to put it back to as originally as i can, so i need some help here

I need someone to tell me what color the plastic for this modell should have and what color the frame should have and if there was any nerf bars on these ?

Thanks folks.

It´s not about all the riding for my part (i do ride also). I like to fix them up. Im nearly done with my Tri-Z and i bought this to have something to work on (hobby). The point is to bring it back to as it was in 87. I have a body less Quadzilla, where frame is 87 and black. I do belive this is the wrong color.

One more thing. Is this the model withe the "thin" front bumper?

Why cant i upload picture here ?

You need to use a hosting site to upload pics or Tapatalk if you're browsing on a cell phone.

I dont recall any of the front bumpers being thin.  i think all were the blue bumpers with the rubber zip tied on.

since talking about thin bumpers .. my 88 zilla had a thin bumper when it came in. replaced it though with an aftermarket one. i guess it was the same scheme as zillafreak mentioned earlier. I can double check that by looking at the pictures before my resto if needed ? lemme know.

Hmmmm. Parts ordering.

Well i`m into ordering part and i run into a problem. I ordered all the plastic, brackets bolts, nut and everything new from Partzilla last week for $997 plus $90 for shipping to Norway. Today they told me that they wanted $175 just to send it to a another shipping company in US (of my choise) and that they will also charge me for shipping overseas. So i was looking at around $350-400 before it reaches the solid of Norway. Needles to say i canceled that order.

So where is the best place to make a order? I thought Partzilla was a decent place to order parts from, but that`s soooo wrong.

I would offer to ship the stuff to you, but I bet shipping plastic overseas will not be cheap.

I have done that a few times before on cylinder and other stuff i found on Amazon and it could be a solution this time also.
I have to pay 25% toll (custom fee) to Norway based on value and shipping costs. If somehow this could be arranged i could "receive" this as a gift with a symbolic value and save some money that way.

I have sent babbittsonline a request on all parts including shipping, and are waiting for them to replay and hopefully they are more accurate when it come to shipping calculations

I may have to look east to Russia and Japan to see if there's anything to get from there. Shipping is usually a lot cheaper from that area.

If you can get info for shipping, the weight and size of box, I could check shipping cost from me. I would easily put it as a gift.

Hey Shortcut,

were applying the same solution down here in Germany for parts from the US, but Fleabay started taking the matters in its own hands and put some customs and fees right into the ordering process during checkout ... those mother **s. vendors and sellers are not even able to intervene and go down that gift route anymore, which makes the atv life pretty hard down here to :)))

still cool to see that same fellows in here are reaching out an helping hand though !

Not sure which bolts you need, but could look into this kit. https://alloyboltz.com/product/88-up-suzuki-lt500r-quadzilla-polished-stainless-atv-bolt-kit/

I have used a couple of there kits. They are great for plastic, some side cover, and low stress applications. Not so great for a-arm or shock mounts. Just need to use anti-seize as SS bolt and SS nuts don't like each.

I did it the easy way. Found every nut and bolt in part list for LT500RH fenders, and ordered it from Japan. (megazip.net)
Ended up paying for fast shipping with a total of $1360 included Norwegian custom fees.

$1797 from Babbittsonline include everything
$2015 from Parzilla include everything

I KNOW for a fact that there are a couple certain people on here with brand new fenders for your 500R.  It’s too bad you didn’t strike a deal with them.  In the future don’t hesitate to add a listing under items wanted!!
