Airbox Removal
« on: February 14, 2013, 06:55:08 am »
Hello all,

I just bought a 90 LT250R and I am trying to get the airbox out without removing the engine so I can scrub it down. The previous owner let it sit out in the elements without the lid off and the inside of the box is dirty. I am doing a near complete tear down without removing the engine minus a top end re-build. I've tried removing the boots and carb, and even removing the bolts holding the rear shock to try and wiggle the box out of the frame with no luck. I remember being able to remove it when I had the same year bike a few years back but it's been a while since I had it and can't remember how I did it. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

i think i had trouble getting mine out, but i did not remove motor.
i had to do some hard pushing but it come out in 1 peice.

just take the one way plug out of bottom of box and start
putting the degreaser to it, then you can just hose it out.
life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sidays totally worn out shouting "HOLY SH*T...WHAT A RIDE!"
