Wanted 50cc quad
« on: January 13, 2014, 07:50:48 pm »
Been looking for awhile.  My 6 yr needs a 50 quad. Must be 2 stroke and cvt (auto). Would prefer kfx or other green ones ( fav color) but open to others.   Totally stock would be best. Hopefully $800  maybe a grand., accounting that I will spend a few hundred to get it shipped to houston tx and he will outgrow in a year or two.  Open to all manufacturers, except Chinese   Let me know if you know where I should be looking.  $100 finders fee!
Thanks!

Ken, you should go with an 80 and just govern the hell out of it.  Im in the same boat as you but i was able to find a few newer lt80's that were about the same price as a 50.

I dont know if you saw my post in the LT 80 thread.  I test rode a 2005 KFX80 with a FMF and that thing was way too peppy!!  just about pulling wheelies when it hit on power band.  Cant imagine how fast itd been with a rider that weighs 200 pound less.  plus when i tried putting around it kept fouling out the plug.

I think I maybe found a 50...  he will get an 80 in a year or two

Didn't see the post.  Those throttles can be governed all the way in.

The problem I have on my daughter's 80 is that when you leave the throttle limiter out far enough to get the quad to move, it will gradually pick up too much speed due to the CVT. A friend told me you can change the springs and weights to take care of that but I have not looked in to it yet.
