PEP zilla front shocks
« on: March 04, 2013, 11:01:59 pm »
For sale  $ 150.00 + shipping

PEP modified and revalved stock front LT500 shocks. These are in GREAT shape.  They perform so much better than stock. The front end  is smooth  and REALLY stays planted.  Wayne also installed a shrader valve at the lower end of the shock body--I guess its for nitrogen charging.

I had the shocks worked by Wayne of PEP than got transfered to Maryland and left my quad in storage in utah for an annual dune trip.  I got much heavier ( 270) so purchased NEW PEP front shocks.   So these have little actual use since the revalve.  ALWAYS garaged.

Paypal or USPS money order  (quadman8)

-The shocks were set up and revalved for me back when I weighed 180 ish.  They use the stock springs. They continued to work very well even at heavier rider weight---the REARS however seamed to be Much more sensative to rider weight.

PEP said they were set for 180 with a weight range of +  or - 25 lbs.. SO optimum is 155 to 205 with the prelode currently set for 180 lbs.  I used them up to about 230 lbs and they were still much much better than stock but at that weight a heavier spring would probably be better.   Hope this picture posts...

You'll be better off going with a 250 shock, 500's are sprung and valved for a lot more weight.
Physically, sure they'll fit, and they'll work....but the 500's have less shock travel and different measurements eye to eye.
Theoretically a shock from just about any quad will fit the 250 so long as it'll fit in the shock mount.

Sorry if this might cost you a sale quadman, you can kick me in the kneecap if we ever meet  [|]

Thanks I will probably just wait for some works shocks to come around.  I am 6 foot 3 and I weigh right now a little over 230 and my guess is by the time I go riding I will be down to 210-215 so the right shocks are probably a necessity.  If I had the wrong shocks and my weight had them not riding right it might make for a rough ride.  I think with how short the 250 is my weight is probably more of a factor then the 500 to where I would be sitting back further from the shocks.  Thanks for the honesty and I am sure you wont have any problem selling the shocks $150 is a good deal, If anyone has had there suspension re-valved they know how much it costs.
