I know most of you have worn slides in your carbs, new one's around $80-90 dollars from suzuki. My snowmobile is 2000 polaris XCR 800 with tm38 flatslides similar to ours. They have the carb slide wear issues as well. On the sleds eventually the stock green slides coating wears off, gets loose in the carb, begins vibrating and over time work hardens and breaks. The normal fix was replacing all 3 slides @ $80 each with the upgraded black slides. My friend had the idea of re-coating the slides. He has had it done and so far it's working great. here's a link to the thread.

The company is called line 2 line coatings he used the armor cc coating. I'm going to send a carb and slide to them and see if they can re-coat the slide for a tight fit. Cost will be around $20 per slide, a lot better than $80-90 for a new one.

Nikasil plate the slide and carb...should last an eternity.
You can even have then bring the tolerances between slide and carb down to original specs or better for the best possible seal.
